I’m Melisa, founder of Danielson Cove in Lincoln, Nebraska. After more than three decades as a registered nurse, I know how much caring for others can take out of you, and how easily your own need for rest can slip to the bottom of the list.
My Great Dane, Outlaw, helped me find my way back outdoors. He knew nothing about overnight shifts or staffing shortages. He knew fresh air, moving water, the warmth of a campfire, and the pleasure of being beside someone he loved.
Through our time together, I rediscovered how restorative simple moments could be. A dog. A trail. The choice to be nowhere else.
Danielson Cove grew from those experiences. I wanted to build a business that understood the person behind the professional role: someone who gives generously, loves their dog, and sometimes needs help making that first step outside feel manageable.
A cove is a place of shelter, tucked away from open water and protected from the elements. That sense of refuge is what Danielson Cove means to me.
Whether you’re a nurse, first responder, teacher, military member, social worker, or someone who spends their days showing up for others, you deserve space to rest and reconnect.

Danielson Cove is committed to donating 15% of all profits to Daisy’s Dane Sanctuary, a Great Dane rescue near Kansas City, Missouri. This is a permanent commitment at the heart of the business, not a seasonal campaign.
Outlaw showed me how deeply a dog can change a person’s life. Supporting Great Dane rescue is one way I carry his legacy forward, helping give other gentle giants a second chance to find a home and become someone’s beloved companion.
